HISTORY

Safe Security (SSL) started operating in the Middle East shortly after the beginning of the second gulf war. The company began as a small private security provider run by a retired British military commander that had been working in the Middle East training security forces and commanding counter insurgency operations since the first gulf war. By 2004 the company began to expand its security operations within Iraq and was licensed as “Safe Security ltd.”

From 2004 SSL was engaged in multiple operations ranging from; protecting workers on reconstruction projects, to stand alone Power Stations, to convoys going from the borders of surrounding countries to work sites within Baghdad and Baghdad International Airport. Most of this work was carried out under US Army reconstruction contracts and obtained through joint ventures or subcontracts.

In 2007, Safe Security became a part of GeoSAFE Group (Holdings) Plc. This holding company was designed to allow for a single parent company for all existing and future “SAFE” companies. The expansion of GeoSAFE into other areas of security, regional, and economic development is seen as an essential part of providing conflict and post-conflict area solutions for governments, corporations, Non-profit agencies, and individuals.
